Setting the cups on the table, Harry sighed. “Hermione, he is driving me crazy. We have been married for almost five years now, and have been together another five on top of that. Yet, not once in the past ten years have I been able to have a present for him under the Christmas tree that he didn’t already know what was in it. Ten years! I know being like this is what kept him alive while he was spying, but a present from me will not kill him. It is past ridiculous. Have you had any luck with keeping Ron’s stuff hidden this year?”
“Yes, but only because he cannot look where I have hidden them. Don’t you wish now, that you chose a career that you didn’t run out of your own home?” Hermione said with a fairly evil glint in her eye.
“Oh, you’re still just jealous that you have to go through hell every morning before you go off to your lab, making sure that none of your hair would get into any of your experiments, where as I can wander around in my sleep pants…or less.” He said, waggling his eyebrows.
Before breaking into giggles she gave a roll of her eyes and exasperated, “Men!”
“What is so funny now?” Harry asked, chuckling himself.
“I can imagine that Severus would enjoy your lack of uniform as well.”
“Yes, well…you still have yet to get that big brain of yours working on a solution for my problem.” Harry said, quickly changing the subject. There were just some things he refused to talk about, even with Hermione. Severus was a private man, and while he knew Harry was very close to Hermione and really didn’t mind them talking a little, Harry knew that Severus would rather he kept those types of things to himself, so he did.
She giggled a bit harder as she refilled her cup. “Where all have you hidden things this year?”
“Well, let’s see. The collection of rare Dark Arts books were hidden all over the place, it is a big collection after all. All of them already have margins full of comments in his tiny script.
The special robes were hidden in a box of my old school clothes. Although, after he blew up the lab last week, I am extremely happy he found those. He walked away from that only needing a few inches of singed hair cut off, yet the entire lab has to be gutted and redone. We’re lucky that the magical ventilation system worked as well as it was supposed to, or the house would still smell like ruined Wolfsbane.
Then there was the…a…well, it is something the Twins insisted I try. It is a new line that will be coming out soon. I am sure you will love this, since Ron is away so often on missions.” Harry said with a blush. “Do yourself a favor and get the Magical You and Me box set. The color is a little off-putting at first, lilac is slightly odd color for a sex toy, but the Banshee is aptly named. I know it made me scream. I’ve never seen Severus run out of his lab so quickly. And no, before you ask, that is not why he blew up the lab, well mostly not the reason. Plus it was his fault for finding the damned box in the first place. Hell, I can’t even remember where I had hidden it now…not that I cared after we’d tried it out.” Yes, that was a VERY magical adult toy line, just as the name suggested, he thought to himself.
“I see. Well…” she cleared her throat, “Well, what about the last present. I do believe you had told me that you had gotten Severus four this year. In hopes that the more there was, the less likely he’d find them all.”
Harry gave her a smirk that made her think of Severus. “That one is in my mind, he can’t get to that…”
“I would not finish that comment, if I were you, Harry. I just finished speaking with the Magi-builders. They have agreed to start on the nursery as soon as the lab is finished.” Severus said as he walked into the room.
“Yeah, well, did you make sure there was room for two in that plan?” Harry laughed as he heard china break into many pieces as it hit the floor. “I guess not, seems like I can surprise you after all.”
