Our 2021 round of mini_fest starts today, December 24!

Thank you to everyone who is joining us for another year of sharing holiday spirit through fic and art!!

Please watch the mini_fest community on LiveJournal and our AO3 collection for updates from now and Dec 31! Hopefully we'll continue our tradition of having a little something for everyone!

Thank you everyone who has expressed interest in this year's fest!

As stated on our previous post, we'll have a very small fest this year, but mini_fest has been running for over 10 years, so I'm very excited that we still have people who want to take part in this mini event!

Here are the basics for mini_fest 2020:

• This is our 12th run of the fest!

• Posting will be on both LJ and AO3.

• The fest will be anonymous + mod posting.

• We will cross post any weekly roundups and fest masterlists to DW and tumblr.

If you'd still like to join us, please comment HERE! We'd love to have you and will work out a fair deadline for you to join us! The minimum word count is only 500 words and we happily accept all art (pencil, painting, digital, etc.), handmade crafts (holiday ornaments, dolls, cake decorating, etc), podfic, fanmixes, and more! If there's something you'd like to create, we'd love to have you join us!

Posting:

Submissions will be posted anonymously, by mini_fest_mod with reveals occurring in the New Year.

We plan to post to both LJ and AO3. We've set up an AO3 collection for the fest. You can submit your fics to the collection and they will be marked as anonymous and unrevealed until the mods post them for you! If you need help posting to AO3, please let us know!

Submission Info:

Here are a few things that will make your mods' jobs easier as we receive your submissions:

- Please send your submissions to: hpminifest at gmail dot com

- Include your name in the email subject as well as 'FIC' or 'ART'.

- Include your header in the body of the email as well as in your document.

- Please place an lj-cut tag in your story.
The lj-cut text should be "The Title of your Fic". < lj-cut text="FIC TITLE" >

- Check the formatting of your fic to ensure there are manual line breaks between paragraphs.

- Include all other other html coding that is needed. You may want to test post your submission in a private entry to your journal before submitting to be sure that the coding is correct.

- Artists, as this is an anon fest, please do not sign your art. If you'd like us to provide a fest watermark for you, we are happy to do so!

- The fic/art header appears below.

• There's Still a Chance [Percy/Oliver, G]
With a fresh start ahead of them, Oliver and Percy break the tradition of attending the usual New Year's eve parties and spend their night dancing together at a Muggle club instead. They're still young. Life is short. And they both realise some things, such as: How they've fancied the hell out of each other for years. How they should have done this sooner. That they're never leaving each other again, and that they really needed to find a place away from prying eyes so they can make up for lost time.

• I've Seen the Light [Harry/Draco, PG]
For once, people weren't on their cases about coming to the Christmas party dateless this year since Harry and Draco (finally!) arrived together.

• New Year's Dance [Neville/Charlie, G]
It's NYE at the Burrow and Charlie makes his move.

• Surprise! [Snape/Harry, PG-13]
Teachers really don't get paid enough.

• Do you wanna build a snowman? [Harry, Ginny, G]
As a child, Harry had always longingly seen Dudley making snowmen with his friends at the park. Now, when Ginny wonders about Muggles building snowmen one day, Harry finally gets his chance to try it out.

• Snowflake Kisses [Pansy/Ron, G]
Ron and Pansy enjoy a stolen kiss in the snow.

FIC:

• Seas Between Us Broad Have Roared [Harry/Draco, NC-17]
It's New Year's Eve, the first since the war, and Harry's moved into a new flat in an old Muggle building. All he wants is to sleep through the whole stupid celebration... but that wouldn't be much of a story, now, would it?

• The Enchanted Forest [Regulus/Neville, PG-13]
Neville isn’t sure how he got saddled with Regulus Black. And the worst part is that he doesn't hate him. He expected to, but in truth, he finds him perfectly companionable. So when Regulus asks him about some enchanted forest, Neville only hesitates for a moment before agreeing.

• I Gave My Love [Harry/Draco, NC-17]
Mysterious 'presents' coming Owl Post, Ron wigging out daily, and Draco being all sorts of Slytherin (or just even more himself, really); what's the story with this Twelve Days Rite anyway? All this and more Harry ponders, as he and Malfoy wend their days through the exacting grind of updating the Magical Games Standards Manual before year's end and everyone else participates in a mad orgy of Twelve Days Gifting.

• Lost and Found [Harry/Draco, PG-13]
Draco is a prostitute. Guess who’s door he gets called to on Christmas Day?

• Claim Me [Remus/Severus, NC-17]
Remus and Severus enjoy Christmas Eve together and watch Teddy open a few presents.

• Not Even Malfoys Wear Silk to Work [Harry/Draco, NC-17]
Harry invites Draco, his new boss, who also happens to be a Veela, to spend Christmas Eve with him. It is supposed to be their first date and Harry wants it to be perfect. However, with him being a new vampire and not knowing a thing about Veelas, problems are bound to occur.

Professor Longbottom is home for the holidays from Hogwarts - and Harry and Draco are happy to have him.

• Kilt'ing it [Harry/Draco, G]
Draco is totally kilt'ing it (get it?) and Harry loves it.

• Continuing Traditions [Draco/Neville, G]
“Just roll the dough out already, Draco,” Neville said, sighing in fond exasperation. Draco continued to look at the lump of dough like it was some creature that was about to attack him.

• Fulfilling of the secret Wish [Remus/Draco, PG]
Remus decides in the spur of the moment what he will give Draco for Yule. But he has also given it some serious thought.

• White Christmas Dream [Draco/Hermione, NC-17]
Draco can't stop looking at Granger at the Ministry Christmas party.

• The stupid Snowball fight, that wasn't that stupid. [Harry/Draco, G]
It was Pansy fault, that Draco had his first kiss in the middle of a snowball fight, and with Potter of all people. Then again nowball fights are never simple when magic is involved.

• sleigh bells in the snow [Ginny/Harry, G]
The Weasley's love to come together during the holidays, they really, truly, do. But when a blizzard strikes Devon, being cooped up in the Burrow starts to make even Harry a little stir crazy. Thus the birth of what is sure to be a new family tradition:Blizzard Quidditch.

• Through the Lens of Love [Hugo/Lorcan, G]
Lorcan and Hugo celebrate their first Christmas together. Twice.

mini_fest starts today, December 1!

Are you ready for some holiday cheer!

The first post of The 2019 HP Holiday Mini Fest will go up a little later today!

We are looking forward to another year of sharing awesome holiday fic and art throughout the month of December!

Please watch the mini_fest community and our AO3 for holiday works including gen, het, femslash, and slash! There should be a good mix of fandom favorite pairings and some rare-pairs too! We have something for everyone!

Are you feeling the Christmas spirit yet? December is upon us, which means there's less than a month till Christmas!

In order to insure we have plenty of holiday fic and art to share throughout the entire month of December we need your help!

If you didn't previously sign up, it's not too late to join mini_fest! If you'd still like to be a part of the fest (or maybe create an additional work!), you can always help out as a pinch hitter/fest fille. Just let us know here or email the mods and we'll get you set up with an extended submission date.

As is the usual case with fests, we've had a few dropouts and we could use some help fluffing the posting schedule of our lovely little fest so that we can be sure to have plenty of holiday fic and art to share throughout the entire month of December!
