Summary: Draco seems unusually content to be at the Burrow, and Harry is suspicious.
For once, Draco hadn't kicked up a huge fuss about going to the Burrow on Christmas morning, and Harry was pleasantly surprised. He was also a tad suspicious. Draco wasn't normally so cheerful and docile. Nevertheless, Harry couldn't recall a time when he'd so enjoyed himself in the company of both his adopted family and his volatile husband.
Molly seemed to appreciate Draco's improved attitude, and she positively doted on him throughout breakfast. Harry could only surmise that Molly meant to make sure Draco's uncharacteristic good humor lasted. While the rest of the family, Harry included, were drafted to help clean up, Draco was bustled into the living room to keep Fleur company. Bill's wife was seven months pregnant and had been banned from doing any chores. The children accompanied them, playing around the tree and trying to sneak peeks at the gifts.
Harry helped Ron put dishes away, while Ginny and Hermione washed and George and Angelina dried. Arthur, Charlie and Percy were charged with putting the leftover food in the fridge, while Molly wiped the table and supervised. At last, when Molly deemed things had been cleaned to her satisfaction, the family was able to repair to the living room to gather around the Christmas tree.
Harry claimed the space next to Draco on a battered sofa, while other members of the family took up positions on every available piece of furniture. As the family patriarch, Arthur took it upon himself to hand out gifts. He made sure to give each child a gift to begin with, which kept them occupied and put a halt to their impatient whining.
Finally, all of the gifts had been opened except the familiar bundles that had been tucked under the tree first. Molly herself got up and began to hand them out. Each family member received a new Weasley jumper, including Draco. Harry tensed as Draco opened his gift, hoping his husband would manage to at least keep his expression neutral instead of sneering.
Once more, Draco surprised Harry. He opened his package and removed his jumper. It was a dark forest green with a black D on the front. Draco smiled at Molly. "Thank you, Mrs Weasley," he said.
Harry blinked between the two of them, until Draco nudged him in the ribs and pointed to Harry's own unopened package. Bemused, Harry tore the wrappings away and shook out a blue jumper with a white H on the front. "Thank you, Molly," he said. "It's beautiful."
"You're welcome, dear," replied Molly. She plucked one last, small gift from beneath the tree and handed it to Harry. "Here's one more for you," she said.
Reckoning that this gift had gotten lost in the initial shuffle, Harry simply shrugged and opened it. He withdrew a small pink jumper, much too small for himself, and frowned. Harry double-checked the name on the tag, but it was his.
"I think there's been a mistake," said Harry. He glanced up to see the entire Weasley clan looking at him expectantly.
"Turn it over," Draco whispered.
Harry did so, turning the jumper around to reveal a pale blue L on the front. "I don't understand," he said, feeling as if he was missing an important point.
Draco took the jumper from him and smoothed the soft material with shaking fingers. "You always said you wanted to name our first daughter Lily," he said. Draco then looked up at Harry and offered him a tremulous smile.
Harry's eyes went wide with shock. "You're...we're..." he stammered.
"We're going to have a baby," Draco told him. "A little girl, some time in late July."
"A baby," gasped Harry. He said it louder. "A baby. A baby! We're going to have a baby!" Harry shouted.
Around them, the Weasleys all cheered as Harry flung his arms around Draco to first hug him and then kiss him. Harry released Draco abruptly. "What am I doing?!" he cried. "I can't just squeeze you like that!"
"I'm not going to break, Harry," Draco said with a chuckle. His expression sobered. "Are you okay with this?" he asked.
"Okay?!" exclaimed Harry. "I think it's fantastic!"
"You don't mind that I told Molly first?" Draco asked. "I didn't tell anyone else, not even my own mum."
"I don't mind at all," said Harry. He tenderly brushed Draco's fringe out of his eyes and tipped Draco's chin up. "This is the best Christmas gift you could have given me, and I couldn't be happier," he said.
Draco's smile returned. "Better yet," he said, "Lily will be your birthday gift."
