”Potter!” Draco shouted when a snowball hit the back of his head. Draco squirmed when melted snow ran down his back, the cold making him wish he was inside again. He found his wand and was about to spell his clothes warm when a boy called his name.
“Draco, don’t you dare do that!” Draco turned around and faced the boy, wanting to curse him.
“You promised.” When Harry started to pout Draco couldn’t do anything besides returning his wand back in his pocket.
“It’s cold,” he complained, rubbing his hands together. “I’ll lose all my fingers soon if we don’t get back inside."
“You promised,” Harry repeated. Draco wanted to show Harry one of his fingers, but feared the cold would be too much for his fingers.
“Watch it, Potter.” Harry stuck out his tongue before throwing a second snowball at him. He missed when Draco moved out of the way, thankful for his Seeker reflexes. “If you do that again I’ll leave.” Harry made a third snowball. “I’m serious Harry. It’s torture enough making me stand here in the cold, without any heating spells.”
Harry dropped the snowball and walked over to Draco. “If you joined me you wouldn’t be as cold.”
Draco glared at Harry. “You know I don’t, Potter.” He always used his last name when he was annoyed.
“You promised me a snowman.” Harry stared at the former Slytherin.
Draco crossed his arms. “I can easily make you a snowman, if you allow me to use my wand.”
“That’s cheating.”
“It’s not.”
“It is!” Harry almost shouted out. Draco could see that he was getting angry as well.
“Wizards have magic, therefore it’s not cheating.” Draco stated, refusing to acknowledge anything else.
“You promised me a snowman, and you promised me three days without magic.” Draco was starting to regret his promises, it seemed like they brought him only problems. “I was thinking that once the snowman was done we could go back in and sit in front of the fireplace with some hot cocoa.”
“You’re the one in charge for the cocoa,” Draco said. The last time Draco was in charge of heating milk, without magic, the whole kitchen stank for days.
Harry giggled. “I’ll take care of it, don’t worry.” Luckily for Draco, Harry promised never to make fun of him because of that incident. “Now, get over here and I’ll show you how to roll the snow into a ball.” Draco felt the urge to press Harry’s face into the snow, he might not make snowmen without magic, but he knew well enough how to roll some snow into a ball.
Harry knelt down, rolling a small snowball into a large ball, before he was pushing it around the yard, making it bigger and bigger. Draco stood and stared, wondering if he should take out his wand and make a ball, just so Harry wouldn’t scold at him for not helping out. He knew it wouldn’t work; Harry would know it was made with magic, and then get angry.
“Why aren’t you making one?” Harry asked after a few minutes.
Draco frowned. “It’s too cold.”
“If you move it won’t be as cold.”
“If I was allowed to heat up my clothes it wouldn’t be so cold.” Draco turned away from Harry, angry at himself for allowing Harry to make him promise something so unnatural, if his father knew what he had promised he would throw a fit.
Suddenly something hit him, this time he didn’t need to turn around in order to know what it was. “If you do that one more ti...” He didn’t get a chance to finish his sentence before a second snowball hit him. “That’s it!” Draco turned around and started after Harry.
Because Harry was an excellent athlete as well as difficult to catch, that annoyed Draco. After running all over their garden, flattening the snow and destroying the base of the snowman, Draco finally caught Harry. He made sure he pushed some snow down his jacket, just so he would feel how cold it actually was. When Harry finally stopped screaming beneath him because of the snow Draco kissed him passionately, hoping he would forget all about the snowman and head back inside.
Draco didn’t move off Harry even when they were done kissing, he continued to lay on top of him, smiling. Suddenly Harry looked around himself, realizing just then what had happened.
“The snowman,” he pouted. Draco wanted to laugh when Harry showed more compassion for the snowman than for him. Quickly he found his wand and pointed it at a vacant spot in their yard, muttering a spell and waited for a snowman to build itself.
“Hey,” Harry shouted. “I said no magic.”
“Unless an emergency. I would say this is an emergency.” As he said that he rubbed his crotch against Harry’s. “Wouldn’t you say so?”
Harry looked up at him with his eyes half-lidded and nodded. Draco couldn’t help smiling, not only did he find a way to get back inside; he also found a way into Harry’s pants. Draco helped him up, brushed off the snow that stuck to him and held his hand as they made their way into the house. Both took a last glance at the perfect snowman in the middle of their less than perfect garden.
