Anon or Not Anon?

The mods were discussing the option of changing [livejournal.com profile] mini_fest to a non-anonymous posting format.

We thought this might be a particularly attractive option for artists and would hope to encourage more artist participation.

Regardless if posting was anon or not anon, the fest would still be mod posting... so you would still submit your fest creations via email(and ao3) and the mods would arrange the schedule as usual to spread out the submissions as needed. The only thing that would change would be that the fic/art when posted would have creator's names attached.

POLL ON GOOGLE FORMS

We would love for you to let us know what you think! We don't want to make any rash decisions and definitely want the feedback from our valued fellow fandomers and community members!

We would love to hear from all of our past, present, and future Mini Fest authors and artists (as well as our readers/commenters)!

Thank you!

I tried to take the poll, but you were missing the answer "doesn't matter" or "don't care". I really don't mind one way or the other, and if you change, it won't affect my participation as an author/artist(hah!) and reader/commenter.

Why is "not anon" considered a particularly attractive option for artists? Has there been issues with people's art getting stolen before they have time to watermark it or something?

Personally, I love anon fests both as a creator and participant. I love getting to speculate who did what based on art or writing style.
